Koen Van Den Dungen (Belgium)
As a skiing instructor I knew what I was getting into by becoming a dive instructor, what I didn’t know was how much fun the course was. Relaxed but serious and after completion I was very confident teaching my first class.
Koen continued working in Thailand for another 2 years (combining it with ski instructor in the winter) before accepting a job in the Maldives where he currently still is.
Jean-Philippe Fortier (Canada)
Oh lala, this was probably the best thing I have ever done in my life. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and thanks to Koen’s vast experience there was never a dull moment. His practical and hands on approach was the best preparation in becoming a professional instructor, even when there is a clown in the classroom .
JP continued working in Thailand, after a brief spell back in Montreal he ventured around in Central America, only to realize Thailand is the best place.
He currently works as a full time instructor with Wicked Diving.
Rikke Hoyer (Denmark)
I was on a break from my university studies and while traveling around Thailand, met Koen. Although not planned I decided to join the Instructor Course there and then. First out of curiosity but soon Koen’s passion for diving and teaching had me all hooked and I enjoyed every minute of it. I was very nervous for the exam, but we were so well prepared we all passed with ease and actually started to enjoy the examination as much as the course.
Rikke cancelled the rest of her planned travels after becoming an instructor to start teaching courses and gain more experience. Unfortunately she had to return to her studies in Denmark eventually where she is finishing her degree.
Mathias Stuhr (Germany)
I was 15 when I took my first breath underwater, little did I know then that 15 years later it would be me teaching this wonderful adventure to others. Koen made this possible and I will never forget the tips and tricks he taught us in becoming successful. Thank you for making this possible and I have the best job in the world !
Mathias (aka TC) continues to live and work in Thailand.
